About us
Talk about being a complete package. With the mighty and picturesque Himalayas up top, a cultural hotbed in the form of the Gangetic plains down the middle, and the ever-so-enchanting Deccan Plateau at the bottom, India has a little something for everyone – from the highest peaks, to peaceful beaches; from the driest deserts, to the wettest ghats; from roaring big cats, to chirping cuckoos. From adventures like skydiving and paragliding, to scenic deep-sea diving and coral snorkelling, to spiritually enchanting artists and monks, India is a beautiful blend of cultures, cuisine, crafts, people, and, most of all, a bundle of your wonderous memories.
Just like the beautifully curious Indian wanderer butterfly, aka Pareronia hippia, known for fluttering flights in woodlands, gardens, and open forested areas, we bring to you our raw experiences and travel stories from across the length and breadth of the Incredible India. Our carefully curated itineraries ranging from popular destinations’ hidden spots to truly unexplored ___ will take your expeditions from basic to unreal experiences. In our blogs, you’ll find pro tips for dos and don’ts to give you a heads up and make your journey foolproof and enjoyable.
Adventures that lead to not only discovering the wonders of this country, but also become a journey within our inner selves. A quote from the late Susan Lee Sontag (an American writer, filmmaker, teacher and political activist), ‘I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list,’ would greatly describe our hunger for expeditions.
We are a group of travellers who are simply obsessed with the idea of India, and Great Indian Wanderers is a platform to bring to you our travel tales and experiences in the Incredible India. We have travelled the length and breadth of this great nation and covered almost all the States and Union Territories. Each of our adventures is not just an exploration of the world outside, but also of our inner selves. To say that we are passionate about travel and experiences would be an understatement. To put it briefly, we would borrow a quote from the late Susan Lee Sontag (an American writer, filmmaker, teacher and political activist), ‘I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.’
Our team consists of professional vagabonds (photographers, naturalists, tour leaders) and amateur vagabonds (accountants, digital marketers, stock traders). Together, we attempt to capture the essence of these adventures in the Indian hinterlands and bring to you a holistic view of how we see the world. We hope our website will spark a little spark of curiosity in you, while also providing a definitive guide to how to go around planning your adventures.
